Why it matters
When a woman seeks protection, every hour counts
Domestic violence is an everyday reality in Germany: in 2024, police recorded 265,942 people affected – most of them women (BKA, federal situation report on domestic violence 2024). The number of unreported cases is much higher.
For professionals, this often starts a search by phone and email: where is a place free today? Which service is responsible? SafeNet makes available capacity instantly visible to authorised services – leaving more time for the people affected.
Are you affected yourself? The Violence against Women Helpline is available free of charge, anonymously and around the clock on 116 016 – in many languages. In an emergency, call 110.

About us
Violence protection needs connection
SafeHome is a violence-protection start-up from Cottbus, Germany. The idea comes from Saraban Tohura: professionals should be able to spend their time on people – not on searching for a free place.
With SafeNet, we bring women’s shelters, counselling centres and municipalities together on one platform. One principle always applies: the safety and confidentiality of the people affected come first – shelter addresses are never shown publicly.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about SafeNet
What is SafeNet?
SafeNet is the violence-protection software by SafeHome. It connects women’s shelters, counselling centres and municipalities so that free shelter places can be found faster and cases handed over securely.
Who is SafeNet for?
For women’s shelters, specialist and counselling services, municipalities and providers that want to coordinate shelter places, cases and needs planning together.
Are the addresses of women’s shelters shown?
No. Shelter addresses remain confidential. Authorised services only see where capacity is available.
How does SafeNet support municipalities with the Violence Assistance Act?
Germany’s Violence Assistance Act (Gewalthilfegesetz) creates a legal right to protection and counselling for women affected by violence. To plan, federal states and municipalities need reliable data on demand and capacity – exactly the overview SafeNet provides.
How does SafeNet handle data protection?
SafeNet is designed for data minimisation: the needs analysis does not require individual case data about the people affected. We are happy to discuss hosting and data processing details in a demo.
I am affected myself – where can I find help?
The Violence against Women Helpline is available free of charge, anonymously and around the clock on 116 016, also in many languages. If you are in immediate danger, please call the police on 110.
